Requirements – Mount Olympus Refuge A
Required Items

Being prepared for you visit to Refuge A

The refuge is a well-equipped mountain shelter designed for hikers and mountaineers and should not be considered a hotel. With this in mind, some standard hotel amenities are not provided, and visitors are asked to bring a few essential personal items, listed below.

Each bed space is supplied with three thick blankets, which are sufficient even on very cold nights. Bed sheets, however, are the responsibility of the visitor. Guests may also choose to bring a thin or thick sleeping bag as an alternative.

Bathroom facilities are clean and functional. Towels are not provided, and visitors should bring their own toiletries. Please note that while a shower is available, the water is not heated.

The refuge typically turns off its lights around 10.00 pm. If you plan to stay awake beyond this time or need to move around during the night, it is strongly recommended that you bring a head torch or a suitable hand torch to safely navigate darker areas.

For indoor use, the refuge provides a limited number of lightweight plastic slippers, as outdoor boots are not permitted inside. Availability and sizes cannot be guaranteed, so guests are advised to bring their own soft slippers or clean sandals for use in common indoor areas.
